Golden State’s Farmers, Ranchers Showcase “Healthy Choices for a Healthy California”
WHAT: On Tuesday, March 23, California Agriculture Day will paint a picture of California in an array of colors — from a mini certified farmers’ market to two visiting California Rodeo queens, Mobile Dairy Classroom presentations, an arrangement of farm animals, and visiting Tulare and Kings County Junior Fair Board volunteers to assist with the event. Together, they will emphasize the bounty of agricultural products and the many healthy food choices that California offers to its citizens.
The California Department of Food and Agriculture partners with California Women for Agriculture and the California Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom to host this annual “Ag Day” event, reminding Californians about the many “good for your health” food selections that our California farmers and ranchers grow every day. It is particularly essential for our future generations of California to see how agricultural products can offer “Healthy Choices for a Healthy California,” the theme of Ag Day 2010.
