SCHEDULE SET FOR 2014 SPECIALTY CROP BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM WORKSHOPS

Workshops to be held in Sacramento, Sonoma, Merced, San Luis Obispo, and Orange Counties


SACRAMENTO, October 24, 2013 - The California Department of Food and Agriculture will be conducting workshops and one webinar on the 2014 Specialty Crop Block Grant Program (SCBGP) competitive solicitation process. All prospective applicants are encouraged to participate. The purpose of the SCBGP is to solely enhance the competitiveness of California specialty crops. Specialty crops are fruits, vegetables, tree nuts, dried fruits, horticulture, and nursery crops (including floriculture).

There is no cost to attend the workshops or webinar. Space is limited at each workshop location. Individuals planning to attend should email grants@cdfa.ca.gov with their contact information, number of seats required and workshop location. Upon confirmation of registration further details will be provided.


Funding for the 2014 SCBGP is contingent upon passage of a Farm Bill and availability of funding from the United States Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Marketing Service (USDA, AMS).
