The feed mill is a common "gathering" place for commercial farms, commercial-related enterprises, poultry feed salesmen and other feed stores. Heavy poultry related traffic, however greatly increases the likelihood of disease presence. To protect their facilities, some feed mills will have disinfectant spray stations and require all vehicles to be disinfected upon entrance. However, not all feed mills do this, therefore a hand-pump sprayer filled with a disinfectant should be carried with delivery and pick up vehicles at all times. If you pick up feed at such feed mill facilities, disinfect the tires and wheel wells of the delivery truck upon leaving. This assures that your vehicle is not carrying or spreading disease from the feed mill to poultry customers or to the feed store. | ||||
