Hyrum Eastman

Hyrum Eastman has been the CDFA County/State Liaison since May 2018. His major duties include promoting the uniform application of State/County agricultural and weights and measures programs of joint responsibility, overseeing the County Licensing Program, and directing the activities of CDFA's Emergency Management Program. Prior to his appointment as the Liaison, he served as a Dairy Economic Advisor and a Senior Agricultural Economist for the Division of Marketing Services at CDFA since 2007. His chief responsibilities were to advise and assist the Director and Secretary of Food and Agriculture on the development, administration, and evaluation of dairy economic policy in California.

Since 2006, Hyrum also has been a part-time lecturer at California State University, Sacramento and American River Junior College teaching economic courses at night. He holds both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Economics from California State University, Sacramento. He resides in Sacramento with his wife and two children, and he wonders when his two children will ever move out of the house.
