FAVORITE PLACE: Loves long walks/hikes at the varies regional parks in Alameda County where he can let all the other dogs know he has been there.
Tank is a large and in charge Chocolate Lab. He was procured by the USDA National Detector Dog Training Center in Newnan, Georgia from a working dog vendor in Washington State in 2019. After previously working in Santa Clara County, Tank was paired with Lisa Sampson of Alameda County in May of 2023. Tank quickly went to work in Alameda County, proving to be very effective at his job of sniffing out unmarked parcels containing plants, fruits, and vegetables. Tank and his handler rotate visits through the many shipping terminals in Alameda County including, FedEx, UPS, DHL, and USPS.
After a hard day protecting California Agriculture Tank enjoys long hikes, wading in water, playing keep away, good belly rubs, and resting in the sun .
